Before Ashleigh Barty became a Grand Slam champion and world No. 1—and after she'd already made three major finals in doubles—she needed a break from tennis. So she took well over a year off, from fall of 2014 to the 2016 grass.

Instead, Barty played professional cricket for the Brisbane Heat, in Australia's Women's Big Bash League.

Now one of the most famous Australian athletes, Barty paid a visit to her old team on Wednesday, attending Brisbane's game versus the Melbourne Renegades.

Barty was officially named the team's "Number One Ticket Holder," meaning she's invited to the Heat's men's and women's games all season long—like Drake, if he had actually once played for the Toronto Raptors.

In other Barty-Brisbane news, the WTA Finals champion was recently announced as headlining the field for the Brisbane International WTA event, which begins on Jan. 6.

Melbourne wound up beating Barty's Brisbane on Wednesday, 185/4 to 183/4.
