When Coco Gauff burst onto the tour and crash-landed into the second week of Wimbledon, many believed they were seeing the next big thing. They were right.

The 15-year-old won her first WTA tour title by beating Jelena Ostapenko in the Linz final, 6-3, 1-6, 6-2. Gauff reached the fourth round at Wimbledon and then the third round at the US Open.

The teenager entered the tournament as a lucky loser, after being dismissed in the final round of qualifying. Her second-round win against Kateryna Kozlova secured her place within the Top 100 and she also picked up her first career Top-10 win, over Kiki Bertens.

Gauff is now the youngest WTA winner since Nicole Vaidisova in 2004, and youngest American title-holder since 1991.
