The show, which is billed as a comedy, premiered on Friday and stars Ben Platt, Gwyneth Paltrow, Jessica Lange, Zoey Deutch, Lucy Boynton and many, many more.

According to *Deadline Hollywood*, the premise of the show is "the politician aspirations of Platt’s Payton Hobart, a wealthy Santa Barbarian," and "every season will revolve around a different political race his character is involved in."

A *TIME* feature on Ryan Murphy, one of the show's creators, reveals that Navratilova plays a horse trainer that has an affair with Paltrow, who plays the mother of the lead Payton Hobar (played by Platt). She first appears in Episode 2, and while there are a few tennis scenes, Navratilova isn't in them.

Navratilova has acted before, playing herself on a 2000 episode of Will & Grace and a 2013 episode of Portlandia, as well as playing a minor role in the 2017 Chinese action film The Adventurers.
