Monica Seles graced the set of CBS Sports Network's We Need to Talk show to chat with former USTA chief and WTA pro Katrina Adams and others about Serena Williams' US Open showing and the major-season-ending event's results overall.

Of Serena, Seles said, "To even want to come back, and want to put in the training, and want to travel with a little one on tour, she's amazing."

Asked by WNBA Hall of Famer Lisa Leslie what advice she would impart to the "phenoms" discussed in the segment—Naomi Osaka, Coco Gauff—and others to come, Seles emphasized practice and focus.

"I think you see that we had a few Grand Slam champions win one Grand Slam and then kind of take it a bit [easy]," Seles said, adding that "in tennis, you're as good as your last result, essentially."
