It's been a big, big year for Canada. Just a few days after winning the US Open title, 19-year-old Bianca Andreescu united with the Toronto Raptors' hardware. In June, the Raptors won their first NBA championship by beating the Golden State Warriors.

Less than three months later, Andreescu topped Serena Williams in straight sets to become the first Canadian singles Grand Slam champion in history. Before she came along, Eugenie Bouchard and Milos Raonic had both reached Wimbledon finals.

The support between the two championship winners has been palpable.
