NEW YORK—While 15-year-old Coco Gauff has stolen the show, two other teens are making their mark this week. On Thursday, 15-year-old Martin Damm Jr. and 16-year-old Toby Kodat became the youngest men's doubles team to win a US Open match since the Open era began in 1968.

Gauff's beat Timea Babos to become the youngest player to reach the women's singles third round at the US Open since Anna Kournikova in 1996.

Damm and Kodat, who won the USTA Boys' 18s National title to earn their wild card, beat Mitchell Krueger and Tim Smyczek, 7-6(6), 7-5. In 1975, 15-year-old Larry Gottfried and 16-year-old John McEnroe advanced in the first round via walkover before losing in the second round.

If the name Martin Damm is familiar that's because the teen's father represented the Czech Republic and won 40 ATP doubles titles, including the 2006 US Open. Damm Sr. was ranked as high as No. 5 in the world in 2007.

Damm and Kodat will take on No. 12 seeds Kevin Krawietz and Andreas Mies on Saturday. Gauff is also through to the second round in the doubles draw with Caty McNally. She takes on top seed Naomi Osaka on Saturday night in Arthur Ashe Stadium.
