With so many matches slated due to Wednesday's rain, Day 4 at the US Open was guaranteed to be a fun one. And oh boy did it deliver—with a seething Simona Halep, Yorkshire's finest reporter and Gael Monfils being Gael Monfils. Here are five the best laugh-out-loud moment from Thursday in Flushing Meadows:

1

"Oh, I won?"

When No. 32 seed Dayana Yastremska closed out a 6-4, 6-1 victory over Rebecca Peterson, at first she didn't know it—and started walking back to the baseline for the next point, only to turn around and realize she'd won the match.

The win sets up an all-Ukrainian third-round match with No. 5 Elina Svitolina, first on in Friday's Louis Armstrong Stadium night session.

Trick-Shot Life

Also on match point, the other half of G.E.M.S., Gael Monfils, ended his second-rounder with a bang—more specifically, a spinning 360 smash that finished with the Frenchman lying on his back, his arms and legs outstretched on the court:

Seethe-Mo-Na!

Taylor Townsend pulled off the upset of the week so far, on Thursday, approaching the net 106—not a typo—times to defeat No. 4 Simona Halep, 2-6, 6-3, 7-6 (4). The performance was enough to overwhelm the two-time Grand Slam champion; it certainly did here:

Alexander Zverev was tested intensely by Frances Tiafoe, but he wound up coming away with a five-set win. Afterward, Zverev was asked on court about his newly created Twitter account. In response, he pulled a Stefanos Tsitsipas, saying, "I don't have that many followers yet, so please click the 'subscribe' button."

All the Way from Yorkshire

Zverev might not have a Federer-esque number of followers on his Twitter account yet, but he's already been making things happen with it. He jokingly encouraged Jonathan Pinfield, his favorite reporter from Yorkshire, to fly over for the US Open, and Pinfield actually did it, making it in time for Zverev's second-round bout.

Zverev's third-round match will be against No. 80 Aljaz Bedene.
