Felix Auger-Aliassime and Belinda Bencic got the best start their US Open fortnights by going to the Park Terrace Hotel to hang out with some furry friends.

World No. 19 Auger-Aliassime will take on Denis Shapovalov for a spot in the Grand Slams second round. The two are tied 1-1 in their head-to-head record with Auger-Aliassime winning earlier this year in Madrid, but Shapovalov emerging as the victor at last year's US Open when Auger-Aliassime had to retire.

Bencic will face Mandy Minella in her opening match; who's she's defeated twice–most recently in straight sets in Stuttgart. The Swiss will be looking to have a better performance than last year's US Open where she fell in the first round.

Monday happens to National Dog Days, and the Top 20 stars will start their run at the last major of the year on Tuesday.
