In the midst of a three-set battle against Donna Vekic in Cincinnati, Venus Williams called her coach to the court. Needless to say, it wasn't the typical 45-second exchange.

Eric Hechtman appeared swiftly at her side in the event's main stadium, and Venus quickly first requested of him to procure a coffee drink for her. Acknowledging that ask, Hechtman launched into some tactical considerations that Venus lightly nodded at and largely sat through rather blank-faced.

As her coach wrapped his visit, Venus served up a follow-up request, saying, "Can I get it for, like, I don't know, ASAP?"

Venus ultimately surmounted Vekic's charge, notching a 2-6, 6-3, 6-3 victory over the fellow big-serving power hitter 16 years her junior. On Friday, Venus fell in the quarterfinals to Madison Keys, 6-2, 6-3, ending her bid for her first title since 2016.
