This week, Venus Williams is thriving at the Cincinnati Premier 5 tournament with upset Kiki Bertens and Donna Vekic in the second and third rounds. Everyone is used to the older Williams sister doing moderately well in tournaments, yet it's been three years since her last title win.

Kaohsiung in 2016 was the last time the 39-year-old has raised a singles trophy above her head. It's been even longer since she won a Premier tournament, winning the Wuhan title in 2015. It will only get harder from here on for Williams to win the higher-level tournaments, but it would be silly to think she doesn't still has what it takes to beat anyone on tour.
