World No. 206 Ernesto Escobedo earned a wild card into the US Open last week by clinching first place in the US Open Wild Card Challenge. The Challenge tracks ranking points gained at hard-court tournaments during a five-week period. By capturing the most points, the West Covina, Calif. standout was awarded a spot in the upcoming US Open main draw.

The American cracked the Top 100 to reach a career-high ranking of No. 67 for the first time in 2017 at 20 years old.
