The Rogers Cup is the first Premier 5 tournament in the US Open Series, making it a competitive arena for players who want to gain a rankings advantage leading up to Cincinnati and the US Open.

Unfortunately, not too many Canadian players have made it to the finalĀ in a very long time. Enter Bianca Andreescu.

After months out with a shoulder injury, the 19-year-old is the first player from Canada to reach the WTA fina in 50 years, making her run already an extraordinary achievement. The only person standing in her way is Serena Williams. This is the American's first WTA Premier final in three years.
