Rafael Nadal has rewarded himself mid-season with a new yacht. The 33-year-old has purchased an 80 Sunreef Power catamaran, which will be ready for use in 2020. He’s selling his current 80-foot yacht Beethoven for $2.6 million.'

His new 80-foot yacht, which can accommodate 12 guests,  is is set to premiere in September 2019 at the Cannes Yachting Festival. The Spaniard’s go-to pastime is hitting the seas with his friends, usually on a yacht in Spain’s Balearic Islands.

“As someone from an island as I am, the sea is part of our lives and it’s not a secret that I love the sea,” Nadal told the Sunreef Yacht News. “Every time I am at home in Mallorca I try to go out and find that time where I can just enjoy my time on a boat.”

After winning his 12th Roland Garros title, Nadal reached the semifinals at Wimbledon, falling to Roger Federer. He’s scheduled to defending his Rogers Cup crown in Montreal later this month.
