Danielle Demski joins forces with performance coach Mike Guevara to share three muscle contraction footwork drills. Guevara, the owner of Los Angeles-based Do it Moving Human Performance, has worked with former No. 1 Victoria Azarenka.

Eccentric strength

— The ability to slow down with control.

Isometric strength

— Improves transitional strength from slowing down to propelling.

Concentric strength

— Focuses on explosion. A ladder drill is also demonstrated for core stability.
