Simona Halep made her way back home to Romania after her 56-minute triumph over 23-time Grand Slam champion Serena Williams on Saturday. Halep dominated the match and was relentless from start to finish in her 6-2, 6-2, victory.
The Romanian carried her new hardware off the plane and fans erupted in applause and cheered when she arrived at the Henry Coanda International Airport in Bucharest on Monday.
The two-time Grand Slam champion walked off the plane with her newest trophy.
Halep was greeted on the ground by her hometown fans and supporters who had more flowers than she could carry.

Halep was all smiles as she spent some time signing autographs and snapping pictures before she left the airport.
