In Karolina Pliskova's third-round match, the crafty Hsieh Su-wei ran the third seed all around the court. In the end, it was Pliskova's volley that earned the point.

David Goffin lost his quarterfinal match to the eventual champion Novak Djokovic, but he pushed the Serbian by running down balls. In this hot shot, Goffin ran back towards the baseline and executed a tougher lob reply, via a tweener. Djokovic answered back, but Goffin had the final say when he closed with an unreachable volley.

The smooth Roger Federer is no stranger to coming up with breathtaking shots, and in his third-round match against Lucas Pouille, he did it again. Pouille approached the net with a strong volley, but it wasn't strong enough as the Swiss Star took a backhand on the rise for an epic passing shot.

Serena Williams had a great Wimbledon run and nearly took the title once again. Coming into the tournament with very little match play, Serena improved with every match and her dominating semifinal is a testament to that. Barbora Strycova pulled Serena wide but the American had an answer in this hot shot.

World No. 1 Djokovic displayed the fight of a true champion in the final against Roger Federer. In the fifth and final set, the Serbian dove for a volley that helped him hold serve in a crucial part of the match.
