Despite Wimbledon being the home Grand Slam for British players, the locals haven't had the best of luck being represented in the winner's circle at the tournament, at least in the Open Era. Murray is still alive in the mixed event (with Serena Williams), and Johanna Konta is carrying the flag into the singles quarterfinals. 

While Murray has been stealing the spotlight for the last 10 years, the history of British players at Wimbledon is long and rich. Since the late 1880's, they have been pecking away at the titles, snatching the trophy or at least having a strong run every few years.
