On July 4th, 2011 Novak Djokovic snatched the world No. 1 ranking away from the then 10-time Grand Slam champion Rafael Nadal. The Serbian claimed the coveted spot after defeating France's Jo-Wilfred Tsonga in the semifinals of Wimbledon.

Djokovic triumphed over Nadal, 6–4, 6–1, 1–6, 6–3, in the final to capture his third Grand Slam at the time. Now, Djokovic sits once more in the top spot and holds 15 Grand Slam titles.

The reigning Wimbledon champion easily dismissed Denis Kudla in his second-round Wimbledon matchup on Wednesday as he continues his quest to holding up his 16th major.
