Wimbledon has many traditions, but perhaps the most special is the royal family watching action from the Royal Box on Center Court. This time around though, Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, was seen during the first week of Wimbledon, talking with players and fans around the grounds and sitting at Court No. 14.

After defeating Ana Bogdan in the first round, British No. 1 Johanna Konta met with Middleton.

"We were just actually talking about Court 1, the new roof, playing on there, if it will be any different," Konta said. "I said I'll let her know."

"I think the royal family is great. I'm a big fan of the royal family," Konta added. "But I'm a big fan of tradition. I think that goes very much in hand with that."

Middleton also watched Harriet Dart in the first round on the outer courts—something that the royal family rarely does since usually they're spotted during the finals.

The young Brit stayed poised throughout the special occasion.

"I was aware," she said. "The chair umpire mentioned it before the coin toss. It's pretty cool to have royalty watching you. Such a privilege for me for her to get to see me play."

Dart would win her first-ever Wimbledon match in front of Middleton, who was seated between Brits Katie Boulter and Anne Keothavong.

Dart will face Beatriz Haddad Maia in the second round, after the Brazilian took out former champion Garbine Muguruza.
