Nick Kyrgios may have popularized the underhand serve but it's Michael Chang who started it, and his pupil Kei Nishikori who just hit it in London.

Nishikori is playing in the Aspall Tennis Classic exhibition event at the Hurlingham Club this week. He was taking on Lucas Pouille on Wednesday, and had triple set point when he whipped out the sneaky shot.

Chang paid tribute to his famous underhand serve in Paris last month:

Chang won the 1989 Roland Garros crown, and used the underhand serve to stun Ivan Lendl in the fourth round.

Nishikori is playing his first event since losing to Rafael Nadal in the Roland Garros quarterfinals. He's joined at the pre-Wimbledon event by some big names including Kyrgios, Nadal, Kevin Anderson, Marin Cilic and Dominic Thiem.
