Murray gets courted for Wimbledon mixed doubles partners

Murray told press he will play doubles at Wimbledon with Pierre-Hugues Herbert. It's a surprise given that Herbert split with Nicolas Mahut for the summer to focus on singles.

"He was going to concentrate on singles at the French Open and Wimbledon, so he was not going to be playing doubles," Murray said. "I can't remember exactly how long, but a couple of weeks ago, [he] kind of had got in touch. I'm assuming he spoke with his team and thought, you know, it might be a nice thing to do, and that was kind of how it came about."

Herbert and Mahut are meant to resume their successful partnership during the hard-court season. Murray and Feliciano Lopez would win the Queen's Club title together, and Murray is hoping to return in singles action at the US Open.

Andy Murray has been back on tour for all of a week and he's already the hottest commodity out there. The three-time Grand Slam champion is being courted by WTA players to play mixed doubles at Wimbledon.

"I have spoken to a couple of players. I've been rejected a couple of times so far," Murray said. "But, if I'm feeling good, I will. I sort of asked a couple of people to play, but I need to wait and see how I'm feeling first, and if I feel good, then I would like to, yeah."
