Human highlight reel Gael Monfils was back at it again in his 2019 grass debut in Halle. Monfils couldn't get past fellow Pierre-Hughes Herbet, ultimately falling 7-6 (6), 6-4, but he impressed the crowd and even himself with an unusual passing shot.

Herbert sent Monfils running towards the baseline with a high lob, but Monfils didn't attempt to turn around or hit a typical backhand passing shot. Instead with his back towards the court, he launched a crosscourt winner on the forehand side of his racket.

Monfils lifted up his arms in celebration as the shocked crowd cheered, and even Herbert acknowledged the unexpected hot shot.
