The stars of the ATP tour are being profiled in a special Gio Sport feature. Players including Dominic Thiem, Stan Wawrinka and Grigor Dimitrov were shot by photographer John Russo while they were in Indian Wells, and the results are impressive.

Some of the big names took part in a Q&A, answering which male and female player, past or present, they would like to have faced. Thiem chose Andre Agassi and Steffi Graf "because she had such a complete game, a good peck and slice."

The journal, which has the tagline "a visual journal for the finer things," chose five cover stars and put together a 24-page portfolio, all shot by Russo.

Wawrinka chose Pete Sampras and Serena Williams as his dream matchups, which is exactly who Feliciano Lopez chose.

Dimitrov proudly shared the results of his photoshoot with Russo.

Russo is a celebrity photographer, working with A-listers like Sophie Turner, Usher, Brad Pitt, Leonardo DiCaprio and many more.

"Tennis is basically my favorite sport," Russo said on Instagram. "So photographing [Dominic Thiem] and 22 of the world’s top [ATP] players for [GIO Journal] was pretty much my version of hitting the lottery!!!"

At Roland Garros, Wawrinka lost in the quarterfinals to Roger Federer after beating Wawrinka in the third round and Thiem reached the final, falling to Rafael Nadal for the second year in a row. Lopez lost in the first round.
