Petra Martic has her hands on a trophy after winning her maiden WTA Tour title at the Istanbul Open on Sunday. After losing the first set, the 28-year-old rallied back to defeat Marketa Vondrousova, 1-6, 6-4, 6-1.

Currently ranked No. 36 in the world, third time was the charm for Martic as she was playing the third WTA final of her career.

This was major vindication for the Croatian after she almost stopped playing two years ago because a back injury.

Last year, Martic won the 125K Series title in Chicago and before that she has captured four ITF titles. In doubles, she holds a WTA title (Bol in 2016) and five ITF titles.
