Serena Williams embodied her inner Beyonce at a recent photoshoot and was really feeling the song "Love on Top". It's no secret Williams loves karaoke, and that she's got a special friendship with the Lemonade artist.

It's old news by now, but Williams was largely featured in Beyonce's "Sorry" video.

Back to the spirited photoshoot. The 37-year-old was shooting the cover for her feature story in the *Business of Fashion* magazine.

It marks her first in-depth interview about her self-funded brand, Serena, which launched last year. The 23-time Grand Slam champion also talks about her love of fashion developed from a young age and how she's gotten so into entrepreneurship.

“I always joke with my husband that I never thought I would have my own start-up, but I have my own start-up now and it’s going pretty well!” she said. “It hasn’t even been a year. We launched 10 months ago officially, even though we’ve been working on it for two and a half, three years — and in my mind since I was a teenager.”

On her love for fashion, both on and off the court, no one can be surprised to hear that Williams says she likes to stand out. Her most recent out-of-the-box collaboration was for the US Open with Off-White designer Virgil Abloh.

Her own fashion brand took some time to develop, and you will be surprised to hear that she got turned down a lot, largely because she was trying to sell eveningwear. With S by Serena, she's turned her focus more on everyday attire for woman of all body types.

While she still can't do pure athleisure due to her Nike contract, the clothing line has taken off, and has even been worn by her friend Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex.

There's no doubt that Williams will keep taking things to the next level at work, and on the court. She's scheduled to make her return to the tour in Rome next month.
