It wouldn't be the Porsche Grand Prix without a car challenge of some sorts for the players to compete in. The winner in Stuttgart will drive away with a new car, so why not practice parking first?

Last year, it was golfing, parking a yellow Porsche and playing soccer with giant tennis balls. With the innovators in Stuttgart always mixing things up, this year the challenge involves aiming balls at a gong, parking a yellow Porsche 911 Carrera 4S Cabriolet and driving a mini car.

Belinda Bencic was particularly grateful for the rearview camera. "For me, without this camera I would be so screwed," the Swiss said after putting up a 2:19 time. Bencic won both her singles and doubles openers on Wednesday.

Angelique Kerber, a two-time Stuttgart champion and hometown favorite, topped Bencic's time by 20 seconds. She's the No. 5 seed this week and plays her first match against fellow German Andrea Petkovic.

Kiki Bertens admitted her performance was not her best after a respectable 2:28 attempt.
