Dempsey makes celeb appearance at Stuttgart events

Paging cheesy doctor jokes to Stuttgart! Patrick Dempsey, also known as Derek Shepherd or McDreamy from Grey's Anatomy, made a celebrity appearance on Monday at the Premier WTA event.

He was on hand for the Turkish Airlines Tiebreak exhibition, which Jelena Ostapenko won.

Ostapenko's stint on the German clay didn't last long as she bowed out in the first round to Anastasija Sevastova.

Belinda Bencic was especially thrilled for a chance to meet Dempsey.

She wasn't afraid to fangirl:

But it was Angelique Kerber who snagged Dempsey as a date to the Porsche Grand Prix players' party.

A few other celebrities attended the night out with the racquet-wielding pros, including former pro racing driver Mark Webber and footballer Sami Khedira.

Dempsey is no stranger to appearing at Porsche events, having helped open the Porsche Experience Center in Los Angeles with Maria Sharapova in 2016.

The actor is a member of the Porsche motor sport racing, having followed his passion for racing since 2013. He needed something to fill his time after Shonda Rhimes killed him off in Season 11 of Grey's Anatomy.
