Some players, such as the literary Stefanos Tsitsipas, have taken readily to the social media visuals that basically parody both popular television series:

Still others, including John Millman, thought that one piece of so-called #ClayCourtThings creative was a bit too exclusive.

The curious marketing blitz had some wondering what to make of the depictions, including Novak Djokovic and others made to look like Game of Thrones' Night King, the show's icy zombie leader.

Let's see where this foray into shadowing pop-culture phenomena takes the ATP this season. GoT's own season, its eighth and final one, will climax with the series finale on May 19, one week before play begins at Roland Garros in Paris.

The third season of the fantastical-meets-mundane Stranger Things will drop on Netflix on July 4, so perhaps this entertainment cherry-picking will continue into Wimbledon. Only Barb knows.
