WTA world No. 1s are featured in new documentary

Movies about tennis have been trending upward for a few years with films like Battle of the Sexes, Borg vs McEnroe and Strokes of Genius all taking center stage. One more has been added to that list with Unraveling Athena, a documentary filled with former WTA world No. 1s.

Named after the Greek goddess of wisdom and skill, over 20 female legends in singles and doubles are interviewed, including the likes of Monica Seles, Justine Henin, Billie Jean King, Chris Evert, Caroline Wozniacki and Angelique Kerber.

The film "unravels" everything they sacrificed for tennis, how they became world No. 1 and what their influences were throughout their career. Currently appearing in the international film festival circuit, the documentary will get a wider release later in 2019.
