MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. — Every Nick Kyrgios match is unpredictable, and sometimes frustrating, but you've got to admit it's always entertaining in some way or another. On Sunday, he put on quite the show while beating Dusan Lajovic, 6-3, 6-1.

The Australian raced through the match in just 57 minutes as if he had somewhere better to be on a Sunday night. He made that exact point in an argument with a spectator that got thrown out of the Hard Rock Stadium for heckling him.

"I had a bit of fun with it. I knew that I was going to get him kicked out. I loved every single bit of it," Kyrgios told reporters after the match. "It was a lot of fun. I love playing in Miami. It’s one of my favorite tournaments. You just got, I don’t know, just got idiots like that in the crowd that got nothing else to do on a Sunday night but watch me play, yet they talk to me as if they’re not interested in watching when they literally have nothing else to do but sit there and watch me."

The 23-year-old even admitted the situation motivated him and he had some fun with it afterwards.

"He said I had a s---ty haircut. And you know what? I haven’t been to a barber shop in a couple of days, so he was pretty right,” Kyrgios said.

That was far from the only dramatic from the match as Kyrgios pulled out an underhand serve on two occasions, the first coming on set point.

Lajovic did not seem remotely amused by any of the antics or drama. Even before the match, Kyrgios was honest about his desire to hit more underhanded serves.

"I'm never going to hit one again. I'm kidding!" Kyrgios said after his first win in Miami, over Alexander Bublik. "I'm hitting it for sure. I was thinking about it all match today."

But theatrics aside, Kyrgios also completely outplayed Lajovic. He was so on fire, he didn't even need to look at the ball sometimes.

OK, that's just ridiculous, and an unnecessary risk. But while the world No. 33 hit his fair share of tweeners, no-look volleys and drop shots, he also 12 aces and never let his foot off the gas pedal.

He'll play Borna Coric for a spot in the quarterfinals.

"For sure I think the crowd loved it, it was a lot of fun," Kyrgios said. "I thought they saw some good tennis as well."

Kyrgios can run so hot and cold, you really never know what you're going to get. Maybe everyone, including last night's heckler, should just sit back and appreciate the circus while it's in town.
