Tributes to Serena Williams' impact can be seen all over the world of sports, but, at the Brooklyn Nets' game against the Los Angeles Clippers on Sunday, the 23-time Grand Slam champion received a particularly special honor—being shown off on the sneakers rocked by Brooklyn guard Spencer Dinwiddie:

During every Nets away game, Dinwiddie spotlights an important figure from whatever region he's visiting. Past instances have included Rosa Parks, Harriet Tubman and Muhammad Ali.

"Crazy cool. Honored. Wow," Williams wrote on Twitter in response.

But the connections between tennis and basketball definitely don't end there. After the Milwaukee Bucks' game in Miami on Friday, top Greek WTA player Maria Sakkari met All-Star and "Greek Freak" Giannis Antetokounmpo.

Williams, seeded No. 10 at the Miami Open, plays in the second round against the winner of Rebecca Peterson and a qualifier. Sakkari, meanwhile, is facing wild card Olga Danilovic in Round 1.
