Daria Gavrilova took note of the fact that the pro tennis life can be great fun. She took care of work in the morning before renting a bike (with a bucket seat for her friend) to ride around Venice Beach, and then left Indian Wells for another sunny city, Miami.

The 25-year-old would reach the third round of the BNP Paribas Open before falling to Elina Svitolina, 7-5, 6-4. By winning her first round over Dayana Yastremska, Gavrilova got her first win of 2019, snapping a six-match losing streak. It was her first victory since beating lucky loser Vitalia Diatchenko in Moscow in October.

The Aussie followed that pivotal win with a straight-set win over No. 28-seeded Mihaela Buzarnescu. She was unseeded due to her lowered ranking of No. 53.

Gavrilova will next take her momentum to Miami, which starts on Tuesday.
