INDIAN WELLS, Calif.—Denis Shapovalov and Bianca Andreescu are bringing big breaths of fresh air into the tennis world. With his bold game style and lack of fear, Shapovalov has risen inside the Top 30 and advanced to the round of 16 at the BNP Paribas Open, complete with a rap performance after upsetting Marin Cilic.

Like it or hate it, the fact that he prepared a rap just in case he won, and had the guts to perform it live in front of a crowd, is both fun and impressive.

Andreescu has won over 20 matches already in 2019, and doesn't seem to be slowing down as she's sprinted into the quarterfinals. While she's thrilled to still be in the draw, she's acting like she belongs and already has a unique style, a trendy spiral hair tie wrapped around her bicep. It's not the hair tie that's the point, it's her attitude owning it.
