Tennis fans everywhere learned two things this weekend: Roger Federer is not done setting records and no one should count out Nick Kyrgios.

Arriving coach-less and ranked No. 72 in the world, the Aussie blazed through the Acapulco draw, defeating the likes of Rafael Nadal, Stan Wawrinka and John Isner, before winning the final over Alexander Zverev, 6-3, 6-4.

This is his fifth title, stopping Zverev's streak of not dropping a single set the entire tournament. Rising to No. 43 in the rankings, this win was a showcase of Kyrgios’ unique style, admitting that his abundance of drop shots was more him being lazy than a proper strategy.

Kyrgios will hopefully bring his winning energy with him to Indian Wells.
