Caroline Wozniacki had to pull out of Dubai with a viral illness, but she still performed her duties as a Dubai Duty Free ambassador. The world No. 14 showed fans around the tournament site, stopping to show off her photo from winning the title in 2011.

Unfortunately, illness has kept her off the tour for a while now as she also had to miss Doha despite arriving early in Qatar to prepare. She was the defending finalist in Dubai.

The former world No. 1 has had a tough start to 2019. She lost early in Auckland and then fell in the third round of the Australian Open, before missing both Doha and Dubai.

But the 28-year-old has had some great times in Dubai in the past, like becoming an ambassador, winning the title, seeing the penguins, visiting the the water park, and in 2015, surfing the sand dunes.

The Dane is hoping to recover in time for the hard-court swing in the United States.
