Americans have made some waves in Dubai with three advancing to the round of 16. Jennifer Brady may be making the biggest headlines, albeit unintentionally. The 22-year-old dismissed former Roland Garros champion Jelena Ostapenko, 6-4, 6-0.

During a medical timeout for the Latvian, cameras caught Brady skipping her way to the baseline. She made light of the moment, very clearly not meaning anything by it.

Brady—who had to come through qualifying—went on to upset No. 14-seeded Carolina Garcia in her next round, and takes on Petra Kvitova on Wednesday. Her Australian Open doubles partner, Alison Riske, is also having a great run.

Riske avenged a Doha loss to No. 13-seeded Julia Goerges, in straight sets no less. She then dismissed Alize Cornet to advance to the round of 16.

Sofia Kenin, yet another unseeded American, is safely through as well. The 20-year-old eased past Mihaela Buzarenscu before stunning No. 11-seeded Daria Kasatkina 6-3, 2-6, 6-4. She'll play Slovakia's Viktoria Kuzmova for a spot in the quarterfinals of the Premier 5.
