Mattek-Sands talks passion and love for her fashion line

Near the end of 2018, Bethanie Mattek-Sands, an eight-time Grand Slam champion and Olympic gold medalist, added a new achievement to her long list: sports clothing designer. The American announced she was partnering with the brand Lucky In Love to create a series of a limited-edition collections.

The first set of pieces debuted on New Years Day this year, and Mattek-Sands was in the new clothes during the Australian Open. The line is inspired by the former world No. 1's unique style and bold tattoos. She didn't get to wear it a lot as her best result was reaching the quarterfinals in mixed doubles, but at least she was fashionably fun while doing it.

In a recent promo video, the 33-year-old talked about what passion and love mean to her, specifically in terms of her husband, tennis, and, of course, the Lucky In Love collaboration.

The collection will continue launching new styles throughout 2019.
