Hopman Cup stars celebrate start of 2019 at gala

Every year, the Hopman Cup holds an annual gala on New Year's Eve. This year saw WTA and ATP players celebrating the start of 2019 in style together in Perth.

Many major names attended the black-carpet event, including Serena Williams, Francis Tiafoe, Belinda Bencic, Roger Federer, Stefanos Tsitsipas, David Ferrer and Garbine Muguruza.

The Swiss defending champions stood out, with the former world No. 1 wearing a classic suit-and-tie while his partner wore a black one-shoulder dress.

The exhibition style event includes teams from Germany, Great Britain, Greece, the U.S., Switzerland, Australia, Spain and France.

Federer may have partied too hard, sending a funny New Year's Tweet to his fans while spinning on a rooftop.

In Perth, Germany currently leads Group A while Switzerland stands in first place in Group B. The finals between the winners of the two groups will take place on Saturday.
