Alexander Zverev may not be a fan of the Australian Open's newly announced rule about final-set tiebreaks, but Angelique Kerber herself is no fan of his knack for tardiness.

"Always the same," Kerber said to someone off-camera as she waited before the German tandem went on for a Hopman Cup mixed-doubles match in Perth, Australia.

Known as Sascha to friends and family including Kerber, Zverev faced his compatriot's knowing, good-naturedly annoyed smirk upon seeing her at the end of a hallway. He offered her part of a quick snack he was gnawing on, but in more ways than one, Kerber wasn't having it.

Then they walked out and beat Garbine Muguruza and David Ferrer by a 4-2, 4-3 (3) count by the exhibition event's Fast4 scoring.

The Deutsch duo saw great success in 2018, with Kerber rebounding from a lackluster 2017 season to beat Serena Williams for the Wimbledon singles title and Zverev composing himself to claim the ATP World Tour Finals championship.

With Hopman Cup action serving as part of their Australian Open prep, the Germans next take on pairs from France and Australia in round-robin play in Perth.
