Serena found herself perched at No. 79 in Forbes' formula for generating the list of powerful women, with the likes of Shonda Rhimes and other notables hovering in the 70s as well. At 37 years old, Serena is the seventh-youngest woman on the list, two spots behind Beyoncé.
Also of note, Serena was the only woman to appear in the Top 10 among Twitter's most tweeted-about athletes, at No. 7. Other athletes on the list included LeBron James, pal-of-Serena Colin Kaepernick, Kobe Bryant, Kyrie Irving, Tom Brady and Dwyane Wade.
Even with the busy offseason, Williams is starting her 2019 season a couple of days early, with an exhibition in Abu Dhabi at the end of December.
