Rafael Nadal was named the winner of the ATP's Stefan Edberg Sportsmanship Award on Thursday, ending Roger Federer's seven-year streak (2011-2017) of being a lock for the honor.

The award is voted on annually by the players, with the criteria being professionalism, integrity, fairness and off-court activities. The ATP specifically cited Nadal's assistance to flood victims in Mallorca.

Nadal and Federer have swept the Sportsmanship Award for the past 15 years, with Nadal being selected in 2010 and 2018, and all the rest since 2004 going to Federer. The other nominees this year were Federer, Kevin Anderson and Juan Martin del Potro.

In other awards news, Simona Halep was announced as this year's WTA Fan Favorite, as determined by an online fan vote.

Similar to Nadal, Halep broke Agnieszka Radwanska's six-year winning streak of that award in 2017. Now, with her second Fan Favorite win in a row, Halep has her own streak going.

Considering she's also been the year-end No. 1 for two years running, both Halep and Nadal have quite a bit going them heading into 2019.
