Caroline Wozniacki has had quite a year. Her good stretch began when she won the WTA Finals in Singapore last fall, and followed it up with her maiden Grand Slam title in Australia.

"Those are some incredible week and even months of my life so I just tried to hold onto the moments for as long as I could," Wozniacki said.

After winning Melbourne over Simona Halep, the Dane returned to No. 1 for the first time in eight years. Off the court, life was also going well for the 28-year-old as she got engaged to former NBA star David Lee.

Wozniacki added two more titles in 2018, in Eastbourne and Beijing, to get to a WTA title total of 30. In her feature video with the WTA, Wozniacki explained how important it is having her family so involved in her career, including her dad and coach Piotri and older brother Patrik.

"I wouldn't be where I am without my dad’s support and without him taking me under his wing," Wozniacki said. "To have family around really means a lot."

She needed extra support when she was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis, not revealing her condition until after the WTA Finals in Singapore. Undeterred, Wozniacki will carry on in 2019 and start the year ranked No. 3.
