Alexander Zverev's triumph in the ATP Finals in London marked his biggest title to date. The 21-year-old also snagged a $2 million euro payday, tucking away the equivalent of $2.26 million.

As it turned out, that was more than enough for him to upend Australian Open champion Roger Federer, winner of four other titles this year, for No. 3 on the 2018 ATP Tour's top earners list.

Beyond those looming-large monetary numbers, the per-point breakdown is itself staggering (note: this is for points won).

Zverev, for his performance in the O2 Arena – topping Federer and then Novak Djokovic for the season-ending title – was ecstatic about the win.

Whether the young German can carry his late-breaking success into 2019 major territory will be a surefire story to follow. He has yet to progress past a Grand Slam quarterfinal showing and perhaps still needs to build up his mental fortitude and stamina for best-of-five bouts. Time will tell, namely in the next 10 months.
