Borna Coric is officially not a Next Gen contender anymore. The Croatian turned 22 on Wednesday, marking his exit from the 21-and-under category.

He didn't seem to bothered as the world No. 12 is in London as an alternate for the ATP Finals after a breakthrough season.

The tournament surprised him with a cake, which is exactly what he requested on Twitter:

When Coric was just 17, he announced himself to the tour by beating Nadal in Basel. Now four years later, Coric has put together a 39-20 season with his highlights including his first ATP Masters 1000 final appearance in Shanghai and a title in Halle (over Roger Federer).
