Alize Cornet has proven herself to be adaptable, with an all-court game befitting her physical gifts. But tennis stadiums are hardly the only stages she has known.

How many WTA or ATP stars do you know with legitimate screen credits to their name?

Indeed, there's Cornet, on an episode intriguingly titled Terre Battue, starring on the French television show, L'Instit (The Teacher). The French TV show ran across nine seasons from 1993-04. The year was 2001, when Cornet was about 11 but already wielding a bona fide backhand weapon and rocking a ball holster behind her back as well.

Cornet suffered a downtempo 2018 season, winning a singles title but posting a 27-25 match record overall and losing in the first round at Wimbledon and the US Open. Even so, she will enter the 2019 WTA season ranked No. 47 in the world.
