A new, self-aware Apple clip pulls together people from a range of geographic, cultural and racial-ethnic backgrounds.

Representing the brand's "Behind the Mac" theme, there are celebrities such as Malala Yousafzai, Oprah Winfrey, Bono, Paul McCartney, Shawn Mendes, tennis super-fans Anna Wintour and Lin-Manuel Miranda, Serena-inspired designer Virgil Abloh, Serena Williams and even more. A certain Kermit the Frog even shows his green, it's-not-easy-staring-at-this-screen face.

And appearing there as well are a few not-famous but similarly striking global citizens. Even so, in the words of writer C.S. Lewis, "There are no ordinary people." The spot continues Apple's "Behind the Mac" narrative from earlier in 2018, when another famous type, Grimes, took part in a similar ad spot. The story shared among all these notables is that a lot of creativity takes place no matter who is behind any particular MacBook.

Serena's showing among so many notables continues the media-marketing crescendo that she has been building toward her post–professional playing days, as documented quiterecently by *Adweek*.

As far as Serena's next move is concerned, one can speak only to the tennis court: She's set to pair up with Frances Tiafoe for 2019 Hopman Cup action, and her off-court maneuvers may continue to keep the global tennis and even-more-universal culture worlds guessing. We know this much: Mama said tech is hot.
