On Sunday, the Czech Republic defeated the United States to earn their sixth Fed Cup title since 2011, but it might not have happened without Katerina Siniakova. The world No. 31 managed to defeat American Sofia Kenin in an epic match that lasted well over three hours.

Siniakova held off the 19-year-old 7-5, 5-7, 7-5, to earn the third and final win for her home country. She also took down Alison Riske, 6-3, 7-6 (2), just 24 hours prior, to secure a strong 2-0 lead for the Czech Republic after Day 1.

Both teams were without their star players, but Siniakova really stepped up. The 22-year-old is ranked No. 1 in doubles, but her singles performances have seen her earn deep runs in the last half of the season, such as the quarterfinals in Beijing and Wuhan.
