Naomi Osaka received a hero's welcome in Haiti where she's visiting on a government's invitation. Though born in Japan, Osaka's father is Haitian (her mother is Japanese).

Osaka's fans on the Caribbean island were more than ready to greet the 21-year-old Grand Slam champion.

Osaka had also visited Haiti after winning the US Open earlier this year. The Minister of Foreign Affairs Edomond Bocchit tweeted his happiness at hosting Osaka.

Osaka is an inspiration for young women everywhere, but particularly in her home nations of Haiti and Japan.

She finished her career-best year at No. 5.
