Roger Federer pulled out some slick moves in his opening round in Basel on Tuesday. Facing a challenge from Filip Krajinovic, the Swiss managed a fast-moving hot-shot while comfortably up a break.

He seemed in full control of the match deep into the second set, yet he would end up needing a third set to advance, 6-2, 4-6, 6-4.

It's no secret that Federer feels comfortable playing in front of his home crowd in Switzerland. He's won the event eight times, including last year. The 37-year-old even posted a hot shot from 2002, with the comment, "Back on my home court tonight #Basel #Memories."

That year, a 21-year-old Federer hit an incredible smash winner against Andy Roddick on his way to the  semifinals. Who could have imagined that sixteen years later, Federer would still be hitting hot shots in Basel.

The world No. 3 will face Jan-Lennard Struff on Thursday.
