The Baseline Player of the Week: Kyle Edmund

This season has the breakthrough year for many players including Kyle Edmund. To kick things off, the Brit sprinted into his first Grand Slam semifinal at the Australian Open, and nearing the very end of the year, he has won his first career ATP title.

Facing Gael Monfils in the Antwerp final, the top seed bounced back after losing the first set to defeat the Frenchman, 3-6, 7-6 (2), 7-6 (4).

Edmund recently became the No. 1 British player and broke into the Top 15. He also reached his first ATP final this year at Marrakesh. After all the hard word paid off on Sunday, Edmund was emotional.

While his dad Steven was nervous watching, to say the least.

The 23-year-old is tied with Borna Coric at No. 11 in the Race to the ATP Finals, and moves up to a career-high of No. 14 in the ATP rankings.
